A note from the artist:

I am always seeking imagery that represents metaphor and allegory, hopefully encouraging the viewer to ponder what the painting represents, is there something present more than just an image? Does the piece inspire one to think, to question, to move beyond ones unique first person. As an artist I hope my painting does so. In this work I bring to awareness the idea of crossing, to move or explore a new road perhaps less travelled? Whether with stormy tidings or calm waters, crossing represents both coming to and going away. The vastness of our previous experiences overlooks the nature of our crossings, as does the distance from our homes.
