Glenn Dean

Glenn Dean was born in 1976 in Torrance, CA.  Inspired by early California impressionist painters, he decided to become an artist, himself. Largely self-taught, he is now a respected and much sought-after landscape painter of the West.

Inspired by masters Maynard Dixon and Edgar Payne, Dean takes a direct approach to painting. Brushstrokes are carefully placed and easily visible.  Dean’s works convey natural color harmonies and a straightforward approach to realism.  He strives to reveal a spiritual element to the landscape.  His images with cowboys reflect the quiet and contemplative spirit that must have inflicted them on their long rides. This image to him is simply inspirational.

Dean has been featured in notable national magazines, including Southwest Art, Art of the West, and Western Art & Architecture.  He has also won a number of awards.
