ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
A note from the artist: “This piece is inspired by the artistâs time spent on a Navajo reservation over 30 years ago, where he photo-documented a family for many years. The young girl depicted is Georgia, the youngest of four sisters. She was about eight years old at the time, sitting outside a Hoganâa traditional Navajo dwelling that holds both practical and ceremonial significance. The artist captures her bathed in sunlight, with rays filtering through the loom, revealing both the intricate structure of the Hogan and Georgiaâs quiet focus. Her natural ease and skill at the loom reflect a deep cultural tradition passed down through generations.”
