“Apache Wash” is a painting on location at the Apache Wash Trailhead in the Sonoran Desert Preserve in Phoenix, Arizona. Painting on location gives me an opportunity to gather both color and design references to use in my studio work. This day I focused on the brightness of the valley light and the high-key colors.
