About this artist

Born in 2000, Kyle Ma is a nationally recognized representational oil painter
known for his expressive plein air landscapes and mastery of traditional techniques.
Raised in Austin, Texas, he began studying oil painting at a young age under
Elizabeth Locke and continued his training with workshops across the U.S.

Though he earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin, Kyle
chose to pursue painting full-time, crediting his scientific background for enhancing
his powers of observation—essential to his art.

Kyle has received numerous honors, including the Gold Medal at the 30th Annual Oil
Painters of America National Show. His work has been featured on the covers of
American Art Collector and PleinAir Magazine, and in publications such as Fine Art
Connoisseur, Southwest Art, and Art of the West. He regularly teaches workshops and
speaks at national art events.

“Painting, to me, is an extremely passionate experience. I hope to share what I saw and
felt each time I pick up a brush.”
