Dyana Hesson is a celebrated botanical artist known for her vibrant, large-
scale oil paintings that capture the beauty of Arizona’s flora with scientific clarity
and personal reverence. Inspired by her lifelong connection to Arizona, Hesson
draws subjects from her explorations, hikes, and conservation work throughout the
state. Her journey as an artist began in college after discovering her passion for
painting at Arizona State University, where she developed a distinctive style using
thin layers of oil paint with minimal texture.

A dedicated and hardworking creative, Hesson’s work has gained international
recognition. Her True-Blue Arizona series was featured in Arizona Highways
Magazine, and she holds titles such as Master of the Southwest, Master Signature
member of American Women Artists, and founding member of the Phoenix Zoo’s Art
on the Wild Side exhibit program.
