MORGAN WEISTLING

About this artist

A two-time winner of the Prix de West Purchase Award, Morgan Weistling is known for his paintings of American frontier spirit.

Weistling’s intimate portrayals shed new light on the Old West as he captures the mood and atmosphere of the past. His oils are filled with lush brushwork of thick and thin paint that create a realistic impressionism.

His attention to the historical aspects of his subjects comes from his desire to portray the truth and beauty of America’s pioneering spirit. His paintings have graced the covers of Art of the West, Persimmon Hill, Southwest Art, Western Art Collector, American Artist, and U.S. Art magazines, and won numerous awards.

Weistling’s recently released book, A Brush with History, The Paintings of Morgan Weistling, spans his 20 years of award-winning paintings.
