Jason Rich

“Almost every painting starts with the horse for me—the way the light catches its gesture and movement.” It’s no wonder since Jason Rich grew up riding, training, and drawing horses on a small farm in southern Idaho. His western roots and passion for art influenced Jason’s decision to pursue an art profession. By the time Jason completed undergraduate and master’s degrees in art at Utah State University, he had already established himself in the western art market. Over the past eighteen years Jason has enjoyed a thriving career, including recognition and awards in elite shows such as “Prix de West” and “Masters of the American West,” and publication features in Art of the West, Western Art Collector, Cowboys & Indians, and Western Horseman.

In 2011, Jason was accepted as a member of the exclusive Cowboy Artists of America group and immediately received recognition for his depiction of the cowboy lifestyle, winning two awards in his first show with the group.

Jason lives with his wife and three children in the mountains of Northern Utah.
